Dr. Roger Mitterling

Roger Mitterling grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and Annapolis, Maryland. He received his BA degree with a major in Biology from Gettysburg College and a MS degree in Biology from Shippensburg University.  His Veterinary degree was received in 1986 at the University of Pennsylvania.  Prior to Veterinary school, Dr. Mitterling worked for almost five years at Merck, Sharp & Dohme, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.  In 1986, he started his veterinary career in a small animal practice outside Philadelphia.  It was that practice where in 1959 he remembers his family taking their beagle Perky, to have a fractured leg repaired.  Also, during his first years of work as a Vet, he was a surgeon for the Philadelphia SPCA.  Dr. Mitterling then relocated to New Hampshire where he practiced for over six years.  In 1994 he purchased East Brook Animal Hospital.  Although he enjoys the variety of skills needed to practice Veterinary medicine, his special interest is surgery.
