Roger Mitterling grew up in the
Philadelphia
suburbs and
Annapolis,
Maryland.He received his BA degree with a major in Biology from
GettysburgCollege
and a MS degree in Biology from
ShippensburgUniversity.His Veterinary degree was received in 1986 at
the
University of
Pennsylvania.Prior to Veterinary school, Dr. Mitterling
worked for almost five years at Merck, Sharp & Dohme, one of the world’s
largest pharmaceutical companies.In
1986, he started his veterinary career in a small animal practice outside
Philadelphia.It was that practice where
in 1959 he remembers his family taking their beagle Perky, to have a fractured
leg repaired.Also, during his first
years of work as a Vet, he was a surgeon for the Philadelphia SPCA.Dr. Mitterling then relocated to New
Hampshire where he practiced for over six years.In 1994 he purchased East Brook Animal
Hospital.Although he enjoys the variety
of skills needed to practice Veterinary medicine, his special interest is
surgery.
