Vet Techs

Caryn (Lead Tech)

Caryn is our lead technician. She has been with the hospital since 2001. She works both up front in appointments as well as in back in surgery. She has a soft spot for pitbulls, although she is now owned by a miniature dachshund named Martha Stewart and our old hospital cat, Pam.

Laura joined the East Brook team in May of 2018. She comes to us with more than a decade’s experience in the Veterinary field. After on the job training in all aspects of Veterinary hospital support, she sat for and passed the state examination for Veterinary Technician certification.

Laura has had a hand in animal welfare her entire life and has even been known to safely stop on the roadway to help a turtle cross the road.

Siera has been with East Brook since August of 2015. You can find her in all part of the hospital but she has a passion for assisting in surgery on your furry friends. When she isn’t here working with your pets she enjoys curling up on the couch with Zuccarello (her aussie) and her two favorite felines, Stella and Daryl watching the New York Rangers.

Amanda E.

Amanda started at East Brook in November of 2018. She graduated from an AVMA accredited program in May of 2014. After graduation from college she moved right into the emergency care side of the veterinary field. She has worked the last 4 years as an ER tech. Now back in general practice she's excited to be part of the East Brook family. When Amanda is not at work she enjoys camping, hiking and kayaking with her dog Charlie.

Sarah P.

Sarah has been with Eastbrook for 3 months, but has been a technician for over year and has worked with animals for most of her life, between wildlife rehabilition centers and dog boarding facilities. She obtained her bachelors in zoology at the University of Maine and is currently enrolled in a veterinary technician certification program online. When she’s not at work taking care of your furry friends, she is spending time hiking in the woods with her own dog, a 2 year old mutt named Piper.

She is now a senior at the University of Connecticut and is a double major in Animal Science and Pathobiology. Gen is in the process of applying to veterinary schools and hopes to start this coming fall.

Office Mascot

Gus is East Brook’s permanent feline friend! He has lived here with us since March of 2017 after owner surrender. He is a large, sassy, orange kitty who is very much loved by each and every staff member. You may find him hanging out in reception with the ladies every now and then but most days he enjoys lying on his bed in the treatment area. His favorite things to do are eating and taking naps but when he is not doing either of those he is giving head butts to everyone that walks by him.
